BODY PEEL

Overview

Professional body peels can help regenerate the skin on the arms, legs, chest and stomach. Although chemical body peels use the same skin-boosting acids as facial peels, they're usually more concentrated. Body peels can be used to correct dryness, rough patches, uneven skin, wrinkles, and acne. A series of peel treatments improve the appearance of uneven pigmentation while making your skin look softer, smoother and more radiant.

Who Can Benefit

Peels are indicated for anyone who wants to improve the texture and appearance of their skin due to damage from aging, sun, acne, acne scarring or dark spots.

How It Works

Chemical peels work by removing superficial layers of skin to allow new layers of skin to grow in their place. After the skin is cleansed, a chemical solution is applied to the targeted area or to specific smaller areas for spot treatment. During the peel, you’ll experience a burning sensation, followed by a stinging sensation. This indicates that the chemical is penetrating the skin and working to remove the targeted layers of skin. Pain medications or cold compresses may be used to manage pain during and after the chemical peel but are not usually required. Once the skin is removed, the body will repair the “wound” using its natural regenerative processes. Over the coming days and weeks, new skin will grow, resulting in a fresher, healthier appearance and a reduction in lines, dark spots and/or scarring.

Results

Results from a chemical peel depend greatly on your skin care routine. The better the routine, and the less sun exposure to the area treated, the longer your results will last. Since the effects of aging on skin are unavoidable, we recommend 2-3 maintenance peels per year to combat the effects of aging on your skin.
