Tixel Treatment
Tixel is a skin treatment that involves stamping a heated metallic plate with pyramid-shaped spikes onto the skin. It is not a laser, but instead, it utilises thermo-mechanical energy to evaporate tiny channels into the skin. This stimulates new collagen formation to improve skin quality. The effect of the Tixel treatment on the skin is similar to fractional carbon dioxide laser, but with less risk and recovery time. The channels formed by the Tixel on the skin can also immediately be used to deliver growth factors, tretinoin (vitamin A) or lightening agents, increasing their absorption by many fold.
Tixel is not a laser, but a novel device that uses thermo-mechanical energy to remodel and improve skin. It utilises a gold-plated metallic tip that is heated to 400 degrees celsius within a handpiece. This tip has 81 pyramid-shaped spikes that are pressed momentarily on to the skin with a highly accurate linear motor contained within the handpiece. The tip measures 1 X 1cm and the treatment involves systematically applying this tip to the whole face. Adjustments can be made to the depth of penetration into the skin, and the duration of the tip application.

Before & After
How it works
Tixel® is the only fractional skin resurfacing device to transfer thermal energy directly to skin via conduction (the most effective form of heat transfer). When this heat is applied to skin by a medical grade in situ self-disinfecting titanium tip, it triggers the natural healing and skin rejuvenation processes. Skin rejuvenation occurs through the stimulation of new collagen production, which in turn tightens the skin.
Who can benefit
Ideal for wrinkles and fine lines, active acne as well as acne scars, skin discoloration. age spots., damaged skin (e.g. sunlight), and texture.
